After practicing with Elimink for over 2 years now, and having the opportunity to work with a variety of different clients, what I really desire my clients to personally understand is that: EliminInk is not a magical wand (nor is any current form of tattoo removal). It will not simply make your tattoo disappear leaving your skin to look as though nothing was ever even there in the first place. We must consider that even from the original tattoo, there is damage to the tissue already in the skin. On top of this, the treatment route that you decide to pursue is going to alter skin tissue as well. Even in the best removal scenarios, scarring is almost always somewhat apparent. The slower the technician moves in the removal process, the better your results when it comes to eliminating scarring will be. A slower process will often entail more treatments than rushing to remove it quickly. Tattoo Removal always means patience, money, and being able to accept that after being tattooed in an area, your skin will never look 100% like virgin skin again. The solid reason that I love & still work with this system, is that I feel like it gives someone the best opportunity to get rid of their tattoo that is currently possible in this world. I personally would rather have a scar than "laser bruising" which appears to look just like it sounds. This is a result from the pigment being pushed deep into the skin, but never quite leaving the body. I see many clients who come from laser with this going on in thier skin. Don't get me wrong- many people have great results with laser, but it is important to understand these potential outcomes. THE TRUTH ABOUT ELIMININK: HOW MANY TREATMENTS: What the system claims: 1-5 sessions Realistically: Elimink is a great system, although it is important to note that for removal to happen rapidly, it is likely that you will have some scarring, due to the needle penetration. In specific areas of the body, ie. eyebrows, or where clients want to strictly minimize scarring, the technician should choose to prolong the treatments to 5-10. It is important for all clients to understand that scarring, no matter what, can be a result of all tattoo removal options, including laser. CAN ANY SIZE BE TREATED? What the system claims: Yes. Realistically: Although all sizes can be treated, it is important to note that the larger the area, the longer that each session will take. Only so much on the body can be treated in 1 sitting. Each 2 x 2 inch area takes up to 45 minutes to complete. CAN ALL COLORS BE TREATED? What the system claims: Yes Realistically: All colors can be removed, even colors that are difficult to remove with laser. Blacks most often will pull the quickest. DOES IT COST LESS THAN LASER? What the system claims: Yes Realistically: It does cost less than laser, and roughly 25% less per treatment. DOES IT HURT? What the system claims: That it feels about the same as getting a tattoo. Realistically: Although Elimink does use a topical anesthetic to help curve the sensations, it can often be painful, depending on the area of the body where removal is occurring. As sessions continue, an increased sensitivity in the area will also likely occur. WHEN DO YOU SEE RESULTS? What the system claims: A noticeable difference after one treatment. Realistically: Depending on the tattoo, quick results are a possibility. But in my experience, it is important for clients to understand that truly, all tattoos are going to be different depending on the ink that was originally used, and the location on the body. |
Does it really work? Is it all it's hyped up to be? If you have questions regarding tattoo removal, never hesitate to book a consultation or talk with a technician in person. I hope this was helpful to those of you weighing your options, and looking at what tattoo removal really does mean, no matter what route you decide to take!

In your complete honest opinion, is this a better alternative to lazer as I want my tattoo completely removed. Otherwise I will get a coverup, but wanting to know how many sessions +- I will need to fade the tattoo enough for a cover up as my tattoo is quite big and can't be covered up until it has faded.

Hi Michael! In my honest opinion, yes- I feel EliminInk is a better alternative. The reason being, that not all laser machines work optimally, and I see lots of clients coming in who have done laser & reached a plateau. What I see happening is that as the laser pushes the pigment into the body, it often gets stuck in deep layers of the skin & looks like bruising. Much of this is too deep to be able to be removed by anything at all. As far as the sessions, I do think it's possible that tattoos can be removed more quickly with EliminInk, but it's one of those risks you take where you don't know 100% until you are doing it. Hope this helps, and I am so sorry for the delay! For some reason I didn't get a notification when someone posts on the blog. :) If you have any other questions I would be happy to help. Does it completely remove the tattoo or will there be a raised outline of the tattoo left behind (similar to having a white 'invisible' tattoo)?

This is a great post, however, it leaves out some very important details... What actually happens during the removal? What instrument is used? Where does the ink go?

Thank you for your interest Kelly! EliminInk is a fairly simple process where a glycolic acid solution is placed in the skin via a micropigmentation machine. The chemical composition of the EliminInk binds to the pigments, oxidizing them, and "pulling" them up to the surface of the skin. This is the opposite effect of a laser, which pushes pigments deep into the skin.

That is very helpful. Thank you!! I was about to say "sign me up" but then I see you're located in Michigan haha guess I should have checked that out before... I'm in New York! Lol thank you so much for the info. I'm going to find someone around these parts since this sounds much better than laser removal. :-)

For sure, Kelly! I highly recommend the system vs. laser for most cases. The company that creates EliminInk is actually right out of Buffalo, so you shouldn't have a hard time finding a technician! Thanks again!

Hi Gail! Thanks. I was taught in my training that EliminInk was comprised mostly of Glycolic Acid... I am curious if that's not true, what it is?

It's mainly made up of oxides. Please refer to the manual and the listing on the side of the bottle. I will speak to your trainer. Thanks for the heads up.

Hi Elle! I would not recommend this product near the eyes. The name of the system is called EliminInk. I wish you the best in finding something that will help!!

Hi, I have a question. You mention that there may be some scaring during the removal process. Do you think a combination of laser and eliminink is a good option? Meaning have a few laser treatments to remove some of the ink and then finish off with eliminink so that you don't have to get as many elminink treatments thus reducing the chance of a significant scar?

I started the Eliminink process. I was happy with the results after session 1, but I saw little to no change after session 2. I need to continue the process & see it thru to the end, but I can't find another technician in Shreveport, Louisiana or in the surrounding areas. Can you refer me to someone who is skilled in this method?

I started the Eliminink process last year, but my Shreveport technician has moved. I live in Minden, Louisiana & cannot find another Eliminink tech anywhere! I'm willing to travel. Do you ....or does anyone know of another technician that can continue working on me? Any help from anyone would be appreciated!

I would like to know how does this differ from a laser tattoo removal? Also, which procedure is more painful. I'm interested to have my tattoo removed too. Thank you.

I don't know the difference exactly, but this procedure was my choice & I don't regret it, because it works. It's done with needles, like the tattoo was done, so it hurts about the same as "getting" a tattoo....Pain level: tolerable. I think lasers burn the skin. I certainly passed on that option! ....And this is much, MUCH cheaper than removal by laser.

Product? The only product is a serum you apply 3 times a day after the scabs fall off. Your technician will provide you with some; (included) but if you want to buy extra it's called Derm Renu. It's $50. everywhere I've seen it, https://www.jhonjhon.com/store/p62/DermRenu_Scar_Tissue_Treatment.html but I just found it on ebay for $10. https://www.ebay.com/i/162665451667?chn=ps&dispItem=1 I'm not sure if this cheap stuff is the real deal or not. I just used the serum that my tech gave me & I was fine without buying any extra. My sister did mix me up some essential oils. I used those for another 2 weeks once my serum was gone.
